About Robinson’s Equestrian Services Summer Horsemanship Camp

More than just a chance to ride, Horsemanship Camp offers children the opportunity to learn about all aspects of horsemanship and horse care, from how to groom and tack a horse to what their routine feed, farrier and veterinary requirements are.

In the saddle, we focus on the fundamentals, mixing in a variety of fun activities and exercises designed to improve the student’s balance and control. Beginning riders learn how to safely mount and dismount, walk, trot, half and turn. Exercises might include walking or trotting over ground poles, navigating through a simple obstacle or around a series of cones and playing games such as musical stalls.

Our experienced instructors tailor the program to each rider’s ability, providing campers with previous experience the opportunity to ride more challenging horses and progress at their own pace.

What to Wear
Appropriate riding clothes are important for your child’s safety and comfort. Long pants are essential, as are sturdy, closed-toed shoes or boots that have a heel. Tennis shoes are not permitted because shoes with no heal can slip through the stirrup and pose as a safety hazard.

Camp Policy
Because of the number of riders in camp is limited, we cannot guarantee your child’s spot until we receive your deposit of $100.00. All deposits are non-refundable. Payment for children attending camp must be made in full one week prior to the camp session.
